I’m an illustrator based near Cambridge in the UK.
After career detours via science and graphic design, I gained an MA in children’s book illustration from Cambridge School of Art. I wrote and illustrated my first children’s picture book which was published in China this year (2019), and I’m now developing two more picture books.
I’m visually fascinated by everything, particularly the natural world and how humans live within it. I have a strong regard for facts, but also enjoy humour, imagination and impossible things in children’s stories.
I work in watercolour with pencil and sometimes in ink, often finishing an image digitally.
When I’m not in my studio I’m usually outside; drawing, photographing, running; or a combination of all three.
I am always delighted to discuss possible illustration work. Please drop me a line on the contact page if you are interested.
